Commodity Watch: Zinc futures rise amid improved sentiment

New Delhi: Zinc prices edged up by Rs 2.50 to Rs 313.85 per kilogram in futures trade amid firm trends in the international markets. Zinc contracts for January delivery rose 0.8 per cent in a business turnover of 1,953 lots. Similarly, the February contract increased Rs 3.50, or 1.11 per cent, to Rs 318.25 per kilogram in 3,395 lots.

Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets

Aluminium prices rose Rs 1.30 to Rs 316.05 per kilogram in the futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in January increased by Rs 1.30, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 316.05 per kg in a business turnover of 1,993 lots.

Copper futures rise on firm cues

Copper prices rose by Rs 8.60 to Rs 1,294.25 per kg in the futures trade on Wednesday, as investors built fresh positions amid tightening inventories and improved sentiment across base metals. Copper futures for January delivery rose 0.67 per cent in a business turnover of 12,695 lots.
